I grew up in Glenside, PA, and attended Abington High School, the College of William and Mary, and Temple University Law School.  In 1991, I enrolled in the certificate program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. My teachers at PAFA, and at subsequent workshops there and elsewhere, included Wolf Kahn, Renée Foulks, Jan Baltzell, Patricia Traub, Sydney Goodman, Seymour Remenick, Bo Bartlett, Diane Burko, Stanley Bielen, Scott Noel, and Bill Scott.

I live in Havertown, PA, where I maintain my studio, when not painting and drawing out of doors.
